Based in Crossmaglen, Skin and Tonic is a small independent salon owned and operated by skin nutritionist, Stephanie Hegan. Stephanie signed up to participate on the Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Business Growth Programme having, similarly to many been affected negatively by the inability to meet clients in person due to COVID-19.

Recognising that due to Coronavirus, she was unable to carry out hands-on treatments, Stephanie recognise the important role the internet could play in repositioning her business in this new landscape. With that in mind, she launched her online shop, selling her unique range of skin treatments on Shopify. Stephanie worked alongside her mentor to tweak her brand image and analyse and improve her digital marketing strategy to compliment this.

As a result, Stephanie’s business has rebranded as SkinandTonic.ie, offering unique products that are both cancer-friendly and affordable. In addition to this, her turnover has improved massively with a loyal base of returning customers being joined by new buyers on a weekly basis. See https://www.facebook.com/skinandtonic.ie

Having recently completed the programme, Stephanie says: I found my mentor’s help with my e-commerce website and strategy more than beneficial, and thank you so much for helping me writing my supporting evidence for the awards which I won last night!’
