Newry, Mourne and Down District Council is on the hunt for public and private sector contractors who are seeking to increase their local supply chain base.
Planning and preparations have already began ahead of this year’s Tender for Growth Meet the Buyer event, which will give small and large organisations the unique opportunity to exhibit their business and have one to one discussions with local SMEs about their services.
The event is being delivered as part of the NMD Tender for Growth programme, which is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth & Jobs Northern Ireland (2014 -2020) programme.
Taking place on Thursday 22nd September at the Slieve Donard Hotel, Newcastle, large businesses that regularly procure for goods and services are being called upon to sign up as potential buyers to gain exposure to possible new suppliers. The event will allow key procurement teams to network with local suppliers and open up new supply chain opportunities for upcoming projects, contracts and framework opportunities.
Encouraging local businesses to get involved, Councillor Michael Rice, Chair of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council said:
“It is fantastic to see the arrival of another Meet the Buyer event which is mutually beneficial for both procurement teams and local suppliers alike. Hosting an in-person event highlights how the world is opening up again and as we emerge from Covid-19 it is the perfect time to create a strong local supply chain base.
“In the local District, we have a surplus of excellent suppliers across a range of sectors. If you have procurement requirements that need met, I encourage you to sign up as a buyer. The product or team you’re looking for to enhance your business may just be down the road.”
Places for buyers are limited. To be considered for a spot email Stephanie@fullcircle.eu.com by Thursday 30th June.
